The Anti-Cyclone collective invites you to take to the mike in an open mic with boombap, trap and drill in the background, with Dj Fidezil on the decks. With a feminist ideology that's inclusive and safe, the collective's aim is to bring people together in the hip-hop scene, which is still a very male-dominated environment. This open mic is open to everyone!

Join the Anti-Cyclone collective for an open mic aimed at putting the spotlight on FINTA (Femme, intersexe, non-binary, transgender, agender) people in hip-hop. With a desire to bring a better mix to the rap/slam scene, the collective also wants to get together to collaborate and deconstruct our behaviour at hip-hop events, in particular by reflecting on the lyrics we use on the mic.
Get out your lyrics, your improvisations or your best revisited covers and feel free to take the mic!

Collectif Anti-Cylone
We are the Collectif Anti-Cylone, a collective of slammers and rappers who organise slam/rap events with an inclusive and safe feminist ideology. Our aim is to bring together FINTA (Femme, intersexe, non-binary, transgender, agender) people in the hip-hop scene. For a long time now, we've noticed that the hip-hop and rap scene is still very much a male-dominated environment, and we're convinced that the stages would be enriched if they welcomed more FINTA people! This would allow a better mix on rap/slam stages, a deconstruction of our behaviour at hip-hop events, and a reflection on the lyrics we wear on the mic. We've also noticed how difficult it is for FINTA people to meet up and work together in this professional environment. For all these reasons, we are convinced of the importance of organising Anti-cyclone evenings. Anti-Cylone events are organised and managed by FINTA people from the Slam, Rap and Hip-Hop scene. All our guests on the slam stage and rap cypher are FINTA people. But the open slam scene and the openmic rap are mixed. Our previous events have been very well attended and successful! We organised our first event on 21 January 2023 at the Allée du Kaai before it was demolished, at the Pianocktail des Marolles on 15 April 2023, at the Espace Magh, at the Recyclart, at the Festival Les Ardentes, at the Palart Festival, at the Fururgrooves in 2024, and at the Fêtes de la Musique de la Maison des cultures de Molenbeek with Asfar Shamsi as the headliner. It's always been a great atmosphere, and we think it's really good for the public to see and hear FINTA people on the hip-hop/slam/rap scene in Brussels.
