Cinéfiltres and Romain Cassandre Versaevel, scriptwriter of Étincelles, offer a workshop on the renewal of cinematic imagination.
Cinéfiltres (Cinematek’s Film Culture Service) and Romain Cassandre Versaevel, scriptwriter on Étincelles, are organising a workshop on the renewal of cinematic imagination. We will explore the notion of a “feminist gaze” and then that of “new narratives”, through the different inspirations that guided the writing of Étincelles. We’ll be suggesting and developing tools to open new doors, and together, we will put them into practice.
This workshop is open to everyone, whether you’re a film buff, a writer, a weekend film buff, or a film professional.

Romain Cassandre Versaevel
After studying at INSAS, Romain Cassandre Versaevel collaborated on the writing of Joachim Lafosse's film Les Intranquilles (Cannes Film Festival 2021) and Mehdi Pierret's short film Le mobilier. Étincelles, co-written with Marianne Espasa, is his first feature film. At the heart of his varied practice (cinema, TV series, theatre, running workshops) is a belief in the transformative power of stories and a desire to refresh both the imagination and the ways in stories are developed.
