Queer theories, art, politics : an obvious connection ?

Relying on theory-practice connection, bringing our bodies-thoughts-emotions, we will question the supposedly obvious link between queer, art and politics.

We will question queer theories in relationship with art and politics, as well as art and politics with queer theories. This way, we seek to put “queer art” away from dominant postmodern ideologies ( also in queer theories ) – and especially away from the “body-identity” ideology, shutting down or caricaturing power relations issues. In that extent, the best solution for us is to read and link queer theories with femininist theories together, rather than reading them as postmodern or neoliberal extension of past social struggles.
