Milady Renoir offers you a walk that makes time. A stroll through the city to rediscover its details, smells and sounds. Through stories, readings and ‘chatting’ discussions, participants will be invited to write sensitive portraits of a City.

Brussels is built on mythical marshes, on images of gastronomic and aesthetic specialties. Depending on one’s life path, one may glimpse there abundance or adversity. Walking slowly, feeling forbidden directions, swallowing the one-way streets of a city centre, chatting, listening, tasting the smells, window-shopping… and then writing. During this augmented walk, readings, implied stories and tasty stops will encourage participants to write sensitive portraits of a City, with their senses sharpened by the alleys and nooks and crannies. This workshop won’t be selling any recipe for writing, not any double-cooked fries or idyllic vision. The walking time will be adapted to every body, but comfortable shoes, rain gear, something to quench your thirst and something to write would be a bonus.

Milady Renoir (she)
For the past 22 years, Milady Renoir has been entangled in poetry, countertop stories, politics and aporia, and facilitated writing workshops in captive/open/diverse environments; she writes summaries and glossaries; she conducts reviews and trainings on sensitive and mobile subjects; she gives radio chronicles; she self-determines as obstinate and a killjoy; she militates to support the struggle of undocumented people in Belgium and against imperialisms; she counts a few collections of poetry (published by Maelström) and a few poems collected elsewhere; she combines some collectives, some photo exhibitions, some performances, some tattoos, some troubles and couples, some child, some nostalgia for a past future, some alliances, a great many doubts.
