Presentation of an academic study on the presence of women and inequality in performing arts.

Following on from the work carried out as part of the project « La Deuxième Scène », under the aegis of the Cie Écarlate, come and discover “Act 4”, directed by Jacinthe Mazzocchetti from UCLouvain, in collaboration with Mariam Diallo.

This study looks intersectionally at inequalities and the presence of women in performing arts. This analytical framework, theorised by Kimberlé Crenshaw, enables us to consider the various interlocking social categories and the multiplicity of power relations.

The aim is to examine the effects of these factors on individual lives, but also on the way that institutions operate. The study approaches the subject from three specific angles:

– From the perspective of learning, transmission and inheritance, intergenerational relations, and using an initial focus on schooling.
– From the angle of Women and POC at the crossroads of power relations.
– In relation to power relations from an institutional perspective.
