Drawing on the thinking of feminist and ecologist researchers (Carol J. Adams, Val Plumwood, Randy Malamud, etc.) and extracts from films such as Les Petites Marguerites, Le Rayon Vert, The Substance, Jeanne Dielman and Babe, le cochon devenu berger, Louise Van Brabant will give a one-hour talk on the way in which food runs through the history of cinema and can reflect the relationships of domination at work in our contemporary societies. As an appetiser, the talk will open with Pauline Horowitz’s short film, Tentative d’inventaire de tous les aliments remarquables ingurgités depuis ma naissance.
Cinéfiltres and FAME are collaborating on this year’s festival theme, food. Two events are taking place at CINEMATEK.
We also look forward to seeing you on 16.09, for the screening of Maryam Touzani’s film Adam.
